The main guitar part and vocals were recorded in two takes on a mini-disc player. I was in a cabin in Christopher Creek, near the Mogollon Rim in Arizona and had just been out in some idyllic, forested canyons north of there for a week, sleeping on the ground with a group of college students by crystal clear streams. This was written from just picking a basic chord progression and the words evolved into being during those two takes. I later layered in the other guitar parts and vocals.
